Bible Exposition On Marriage And Divorce

In this bible exposition on marriage and divorce we are going to use some bible verses as our guide so as to have a solid foundation for this study. I will want you to follow me steadily as we are starting now.

What does the bible say about marriage and divorce?

Considering the bible verses [Gen 1:26-27,Gen 2:18-25,21-25].God made man in His image and likeness to be the master of all life upon the earth, in the skies and in the seas. After God has created everything that man would ever need, He noticed that man was alone and God said it is not good for man to be alone and He made him a help-mate, a suitable companion for him. The purpose of God in instituting marriage was to solve the problem of loneliness in the life of man.

The woman was created out of the bone and the flesh of the man , woman has the same bone and  the same flesh with his husband as far as God is concerned not minding what science might say, God's view is supreme.

Considering what the bible says

what God has joined together let no man put asunder "the parties involved does not even have the power to put the marriage asunder as far as God is concerned:

Considering the bible verse, Mat 2:16- “I hate divorce”

Marriage ought to be lifetime commitment and nothing must destroy it. The issue of divorce in the old testament, Moses instructed the children of Israel to issue a letter of divorce when engaged in divorce. When the Pharisees asked Jesus about the issue, he made them to understand that it was not so at the beginning ,Meaning God does not have it in is plan for man to divorce; but why given the law of writing a letter of divorce, Jesus said it was necessary because of the hardness of their heart. The old testament people were not new creatures ,they  were under the covenant of atonement by the blood of animal but the new creatures are under the covenant of remission of sin by the blood of Jesus.Ideally a Christian should not be involved in divorce. Is there any exception let us check this bible verse  “Mat 5:32” when a man divorce based on fornication; it is acceptable according to Jesus; but here you have to understand that before such measures could be taken, the man must have forgiven her severally after committing such act but if she remain unrepeated then such action could be taken.”WHY” because as a Christian we should learn to forgive and forget. “Eph 4:32”

Another assumption.-1COR 7:15 "

But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

"

If an husband or a wife that is not born again decide to leave based on their individual belief, the bible allowed it; why will Paul say a thing like this, the  reason is that  the Corinthians were idolaters as at that time, and if peradventure one party receive Christ the party might decide to leave basically because of salvation, Paul said in such  case divorce might be inevitable. It is quite alarming the rate at which Christian are divorcing each other despite the fact that God said he hates divorce “mat 21:6” and the divorce or the remarried believer should not feel any less loved by God. God loves everybody. In case you or someone is passing through marital turbulence you can share this ideal with him or her; you can subscribe for our  updates, God bless you …….see you again.

Many people have not studied what the Bible says on this topic. Often they know only one or two verses and build their entire belief system on those. (Actually, that's true of many doctrines, not just this one!)

I have written on this subject in my book "Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage: Fresh Help and Hope from the Bible". The Bible says a lot more than most people think. You can find it at www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1604770279/
